Holland America Line · Planned around you

A place to explore.An evening
to look forward to.

A day discovering a new port. A dinner worth lingering over. Live music that keeps you out a little longer. Holland America is worth exploring when destinations, dining and the evening’s entertainment are central to your vacation.

I’ll help you compare the itinerary, ship, accommodation and fare that bring those interests together.

Couples, friends, solo travelers and families. Let’s start with the trip you want.

Picture your vacation

What would you
like the trip to revolve around?

My recommendation starts with your interests. These are useful reasons to put Holland America on the shortlist.

Dining & evenings

Make the evening a highlight.

If a good meal followed by music or a show sounds appealing, tell me what you enjoy. We’ll connect the restaurant and entertainment choices with the ship that offers them.

Destinations & discovery

Let the places lead.

A particular glacier, city or inland experience may be the reason for your trip. We’ll compare port time, touring choices and the actual route before choosing the cabin.

Your travel party

Plan around your people.

Solo travelers, couples and groups can have very different priorities. Families should share children’s ages and care needs so we can evaluate the program alongside the shared vacation.

Music, shows & the actual ship

Find the evening
you’d happily stay out for.

Holland America’s entertainment includes live music, shows and destination programming. The venue you want belongs on the ship checklist.

B.B. King’s All-Star Band

Blues, soul and room to dance.

The current venue page lists Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam. These Pinnacle-class ships are a starting point when this particular experience matters to you.

Check: the selected ship’s current lineup and daily performance schedule.

Other music experiences

Choose what you love to hear.

Holland America features experiences such as Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Lounge. Confirm which named venues are on your ship rather than assume the entire lineup is fleetwide.

Tell me: whether you want singalongs, rock, dancing or another musical style.

Shows & destination insight

Add something to the day.

Explore the selected ship’s stage entertainment and itinerary-related programming. Port briefings and destination presentations can help you connect with the places you’re visiting.

Compare: the onboard experience alongside the route and time ashore.

Dinner, your way

A familiar routine.
Or flexibility for the day.

The Dining Room is included. Holland America offers flexible open dining and classic preset dining, with preferences selected during booking.

Preset dining

Keep a regular evening plan.

A scheduled dinner routine can work well when you enjoy knowing when you’ll gather. Discuss your preferred seating and any shared group plans early.

Open dining

Let the day shape dinner.

Flexible dining gives you another way to organize evenings within operating hours and availability. Plan important meals and allow for possible waits.

Specialty dining

Make a meal an occasion.

Compare paid venues such as Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto or Tamarind where offered. Restaurants, menus and eligible package coverage vary by ship and booking.

Compare the complete vacation

Start with the fare.
Then build the real budget.

Compare similar cabins and routes, then account for the extras and travel arrangements you expect to use.

The cruise foundation

Build from the essentials.

  • Your booked accommodation.
  • Meals at designated included dining venues.
  • Included entertainment and selected activities.
  • The itinerary and ship experience for your sailing.
Your complete trip

Include your choices.

  • Drinks, connectivity and paid dining beyond fare coverage.
  • Daily crew appreciation unless already covered.
  • Excursions, spa services and other optional purchases.
  • Flights, hotels, transfers and any land-tour expenses.

Understand the actual offer

What does
Have It All include?

Eligible bookings bundle four types of extras. Current fare terms generally cover the first and second guests in a cabin; review other travelers separately. Cruise length and the offer version determine the coverage.

Signature beverages

Coverage for eligible drinks.

Ordinary Have It All includes the Signature Beverage Package, with drink-price and daily limits. Review exclusions, including mini-bar, room-service and Half Moon Cay purchases.

Specialty dining

A set meal allowance.

Current eligible voyages offer one, two or three specialty dining nights depending on length. The venue allocation and excluded events matter. This isn’t specialty dining every evening.

Shore excursions

Credit toward exploring.

Eligible guests receive excursion credit based on the applicable cruise or cruisetour terms. It contributes toward qualifying purchases rather than paying for every tour.

Surf Wi-Fi

Match the plan to your use.

The ordinary package includes Surf Wi-Fi with one active device at a time. Browsing and messaging needs differ from streaming or bandwidth-heavy applications.

Choose the room you’ll enjoy

The view, the space
and the right privileges.

Start with how you’ll use the room. Compare the exact layout, sleeping arrangements and location before choosing by category name.

Inside & Ocean View

Set your priorities.

Balance the room with what you’d like to spend on ports and other experiences. An Ocean View adds natural light; check the actual view and any obstruction.

Verandah

Your own outdoor pause.

If fresh-air mornings or a private place to watch the coastline appeal to you, compare the verandah’s size, view and position on the ship.

Vista & Signature Suites

Compare space and layout.

These suite products have their own accommodations and listed benefits. They don’t automatically carry the lounge and concierge privileges of Neptune or Pinnacle Suites.

Neptune & Pinnacle Suites

Make service part of the trip.

Eligible upper-tier suites include Neptune Lounge access and concierge service, with specified priority and dining benefits. Compare the actual suite and ship arrangements.

Club Orange

An enhancement
worth comparing carefully.

Club Orange offers specified dining and priority benefits, subject to availability.

Pinnacle-class ships

A designated dining venue.

Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam have a private Club Orange venue for breakfast and dinner, with an expanded menu.

Other ships

An enhanced Dining Room arrangement.

Club Orange provides priority seating and an expanded breakfast and dinner menu in the main Dining Room. It doesn’t create a separate private restaurant on every ship.

Plan for the whole family

Shared adventures.
Care arrangements that fit.

Share ages on embarkation day and when you’d need supervised activities. Holland America’s current Kids Club conditions can materially affect family plans.

Kids Club · Ages 3–17

Age-qualified programming.

Children must be fully toilet trained and pull-up free. Check registration, the age group and the ship’s daily schedule.

Port-day plans

An adult stays aboard.

At least one adult must remain on the ship while children participate in Kids Club activities. Arrange excursions with that requirement in mind.

Longer voyages

Check the program first.

Regular Kids Club isn’t offered on cruises of 25 days or longer. Selected children’s activities may still be available.

Give Alaska its own plan

Glaciers, Denali
and a journey into the Yukon.

Holland America deserves a close look when Alaska is your goal, especially if you’d like time inland. Choose the route around the experiences you want.

Coastal cruise

Start with the itinerary.

Compare ports, time ashore and scenic cruising. If Glacier Bay is essential, look for it by name on the actual itinerary; glacier viewing alone doesn’t establish a Glacier Bay visit.

Denali cruisetours

Add time in the interior.

Compare lodge nights, the included park tour and rail or coach arrangements. The number of nights and the day-by-day schedule affect how much time you have to explore.

Alaska, Denali & Yukon

Follow the journey farther.

Selected cruisetours add Yukon destinations such as Dawson City. Review the actual route, included touring and transport alongside the cruise portion.

A little preparation helps

Start the vacation
feeling settled.

Prepare the essentials before travel, then use your first hours aboard to complete requirements and get familiar with the ship.

Before departure

Give travel some breathing room.

Complete check-in and review documents and arrival instructions. I strongly recommend arriving the day before, especially when flying, to allow room for delays and a less hurried start.

Required safety steps

Know where to go.

Watch the safety video, read your cabin’s safety information and visit your assigned muster station. Follow the crew’s instructions and complete all required safety steps within the stated time.

Optional first stops

Make the ship familiar.

Walk around, confirm important dining plans and ask about excursions or youth registration. Then find a departure-viewing spot or join the scheduled sail-away festivities.

Start with an idea

Where would you
like to begin?

Use these as conversation starters. We’ll compare actual ships, dates and available itineraries when you’re ready to plan.

Alaska

Put the scenery first.

Start with your glacier and port priorities, then decide whether Denali or Yukon belongs in a longer land-and-sea journey.

Europe

Build around exploring.

Compare the places you want to visit, time in port and travel from the pier. A stay before or after the cruise can add time in the departure city.

Caribbean

Make space to unwind.

Compare beaches, sea days and the ship’s dining and music. The departure port and flight plans help shape the complete getaway.

A few useful answers

Before you
choose your cruise.

Bring me the questions that matter to your party. The actual ship, itinerary and booking terms will guide our comparison.

Who should consider Holland America?

My shortlist starts with travelers who value destinations, dining and live music. The right match depends on the ship’s features and your priorities, including any family care needs.

Does Have It All include daily crew appreciation?

Ordinary Have It All doesn’t automatically cover it. Eligible Have It All Early Booking Bonus offers add prepaid crew appreciation. Check which version is attached to your reservation.

Are all excursions and specialty dinners included?

No. Have It All provides specified excursion credit and a limited specialty dining allowance. Eligibility, venues and excluded experiences need review for your booking.

Does every ship have B.B. King’s?

No. The current venue page lists Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam. A particular music venue can be a reason to choose a specific ship.

Does every suite include Neptune Lounge access?

No. Neptune and Pinnacle Suites carry eligible lounge and concierge privileges. Vista and Signature Suites are different products, with their own listed benefits.

Can every adult go ashore while children use Kids Club?

No. An adult must remain aboard during port-day participation. Discuss your excursion plans early so the family arrangements work.

Does every Alaska cruise visit Glacier Bay?

No. Check the specific itinerary for that named visit. A coastal cruise, a particular glacier experience and an inland cruisetour are separate choices.

Is Club Orange’s private restaurant on every ship?

No. Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam have the private venue. Other ships use enhanced main Dining Room arrangements.
